It is spiritual for me to watch a performer who looks completely charged, electric. Last night I saw Handsome Furs. Watching, I suspected that if Dan Boeckner weren't allowed to get out his music, truly he may go into seizure or just simply vaporize and return to whatever place it is that breeds amazingly talented, scrawny young musical nicolas cage lookalikes.
And should you have a chance to see a show at the Théâtre Plaza in Montreal, please do. It's a gorgeous small-sized hall with a balcony, painted light blue with stainglass lighting and gold art deco interior and a sick lighting system/fog machine.
Hallelujah to both of the members of Handsome Furs for being a little crazy, and to Tommy and Dangerbird Rob for a perfect night and perfect timing.
